Sevens

Type of Dominoes Used:
Any Domino

Type of Game: Trump & Trick Game

Sevens is a BIDDING VARIATION for: Forty-Two, Seventy-Nine, Eighty and Eighty-Eight hands.

Sevens is a bidding option that has no trumps or suits. The only thing that matters is the total sum of pips on the face of each tile in a bidder's hand. A player bidding Sevens believes he has more tiles in his hand whose pips total 7, or close to 7 (6 or 8), than any other player.

The bidder must bid at least 42 and cannot lose a single trick. The bidder plays his first tile, adding up to 7. Every other player must play a tile from his hand whose pips total 7 or the next-closest sum to 7. On each trick, every player must play the tile left in his hand whose pips total 7 or the tile whose pips total the closest to 7. A player does not have the option of saving that tile for play later in the hand. Play continues in this way. As tricks are played, they should remain in the middle of the table.

To set the bidder, at any point during a hand one of the opponents must play a tile whose total pips are closer to seven than the bidder's. A tie does not set the bidder.
