Object of the game. To be the player with the highest count at the end of the game.
Number of players: 2 players.
The tiles are placed facedown, side by side, in a "woodpile" 4 tiles high and 8 tiles long. The players divide the woodpile between them, each taking 4 stacks. The first player draws the top tile from the stack at the right of his pile and lays it faceup on the table. The second player then draws a tile from his pile and lays it faceup alongside the tile played by the first player. They continue to draw and place the tiles on the table at either end of the row of upturned tiles.
When a tile is played that matches one of the tiles at either end of the row, the player making that play removes both tiles from the row. At the end of the game, they count 10 points for each pip on them.

When a tile is played whose pips make a multiple of 10 when added to the pips on the tiles at both ends of the row, the player making that play removes the tiles from the row. At the end of the game, each pip on them counts 1 point.

When a tile is played whose pips make a multiple of 10 when added with the pips on the two tiles at either end of the row, the player making that play removes the three tiles from the row.
At the end of the game, each pip on them counts 1 point.
If there are only 2 tiles on the table and a player takes them, he piles them on top of each other to mark a 'sweep." A sweep counts 40 points. He then draws from his pile and lays out another tile.
If a player fails to take up a winning combination of 2 or 3 tiles, his opponent may take it, then lay out a tile and continue the game.
The game ends when one of the players has played all his tiles.
